Hello World..
Hello World!
These are the first words many people who learn some form of programming language are taught to publish. For a blog space that tells stories of our daily uses and how we navigate a technology society, ‘hello world’ seemed appropriate to introduce my blog.
I came up with the idea of caffeinated reflections after engaging a tweet that asked how people are able to move through the world without some form of caffein. The response was to “complain”. But I realised, I do both. That is, get caffeinated and complain about the world. (And I write this after a lovely cup of Butterscotch latte)
As we move through, interact and navigate technology, my work is to observe and work through how technology comes to inform our actions, anxieties , what we fear and perhaps love. The complications and contradictions that exist within and between it all. It mostly seems like a mundane activity but I believe that our everyday, non-exceptional experiences partly captures the essence of socio-technical interactions and frustrations.
For the most part I have shared my thoughts and work through commissioned pieces and research projects. However, through caffeinated thoughts, I am looking to experiment with the practice of slow writing, short and long form pieces , but mostly a space for my thoughts to live.
So on this choatic Monday afternoon, I invite you to my little world of reflections I promise to keep alive.
